All Ohio Intercollegiate Championships Saturday, September 29, 2018 Race Times: 2:00 pm Women’s Championship 6k 2:45 pm Men’s Championship 8k 3:30 pm Women’s Open 6k 4:15 pm Men’s Open 8k Course: Silver Creek Metro Park Cross Country Trails The course is on the east side of Medina Line Rd. This exclusive cross country course is all grass with rolling hills. Spectator friendly. Location: Silver Creek Metro Park Cross Country Trails 4501-4693 S Medina Line Rd Norton, Ohio 44203 Entry Procedure: All entries must be made online at www.directathletics.com Top 9 entries per team will be accepted into the championship race. No limit on number of participants in open divisions. Entry Deadline: 5:00 pm, Friday, September 21st Entry Limitations: 9 entries per team will be accepted into the championship race. No limitations for the open division. Entry Fee: $175 per team per gender. This includes the Coaches Association fee of $15 per gender. $350 for men & women’s team from the same school. $20 per athlete to run in a race. All athletes on a team roster, who run are covered by the Team entry fee. Entry fees can be paid via www.directathletics.com. Entry fees are payable day of race via cash or check. Marv Frye Award will be presented. Hospitality: Coaches hospitality will be located near the finish line tent. Packet Pickup: Packets and registration will be available at the tent at the finish line. Scoring/Results: There will be scoring for 3 divisions: NCAA I, NCAA II/NAIA, NCAA III. A “chip” timing system will be used for timing and scoring through FINISHTIMING.COM. Live results will be available on video boards and posted on FINISHTIMING.COM There will be no “open race” scoring. Awards Ceremony: Awards will be presented at approximately 5:15 pm at the finish line tent. Awards to be presented: Plaques to top 3 teams in the 6 championship divisions (3 men, 3 women) Plaques to Top individuals in the 6 championship divisions Trophy for top teams overall Restrooms: Restrooms are located at the top of the course behind the start line. Team Camp: Designated team camp area will be next to & behind the start line. Teams will only be allowed to set up Tents in the designated areas. Athletic Training: An athletic training tent will be located near the finish line tent. Ice will be available. For information, contact John Walters (740-512-2138) Team Parking: Team parking and bus parking will be available free of charge in the 2 metro park parking lots nearest the course. Buses will park in the lot next to the course. Extra Buses will be directed to overflow bus parking if necessary. All Team vans will park in the lot North of the course. Teams can be let off near the start of the course and then the van parked. The North lot is 300m from the course. Spectator Parking: Spectators can park free in the North Parking lot. When the North Parking lot is full (400 spaces) spectators will be directed to the overflow parking area located at Wadsworth H.S. There they can park for $7.00 per car and a shuttle bus will take them to the course & back. Shuttles will run every 15 minutes during the meet. For inquiries, please contact Head Cross Country Coach Lee LaBadie at 330-338-0574 or labadie@uakron.edu or Director of Operations Becky Szabo at 330-761-8469 or akrontfxcops@uakron.edu Inclement Weather Plan: In case of poor weather conditions:  A weather decision team will be instated, consisting of the following individuals: the entire Akron coaching staff, the Director of Operations and the Sports Medicine team  Each time lightning strikes in the surrounding areas, there must be a 30 -minute delay before anyone is allowed back onto the course  Individuals must evacuate the course and return to their cars in a lightning delay  If, after 2 hours straight of delay, there is no cease in the weather, the meet will be cancelled (by discretion of weather decision team)  Race start will begin 15 minutes after the all clear has been called for the course  By discretion of the weather decision team, and approval from participating teams’ head coaches, race distances can be altered and races can be staggered to accommodate.  All head coaches must give their cell phone number upon receiving their meet packet so information can be dispersed
